Hi, I’m Neal owner of Fraser Neal’s Kitchen, proud producers of award-winning vegan pies.
Being a chef since leaving school, many years ago, and having travelled both here in Britain and abroad, I have tasted many things.
I have recently found a passion in vegan recipes, that I try to put into our pies. In my blogs you will find some unusual recipes that I am experimenting with for either a pie, pasty or a vegan sausage roll.
I hope you like food from around the world with a bit of spice, if so join me, and let me know what you think of these recipes. We are going to start this journey in South America.
These dishes will be tasty, inventive and great to eat. I have just come up with my first vegan pasty, which is Mexican flavour, mixing black beans, pinto beans, red, green & yellow peppers with white cabbage and butternut squash, these are cooked in a chilli, cumin, paprika and lime sauce with tomato. I do think the spices bring this pasty together and the tomato makes it not too dry.
My next pasty recipe is also comes from South America and you can find that in my next blog.
This is a punchy pasty with a bit of heat, coming from Mexico it should be, but the flavours are great. All I need to do is come up with a great name. Any ideas, before I come up with a dull one???
I’m going to bring this to VegFest at the Brighton Centre on 23rd and 24th March, to let people try it and let me know what they think, if it goes down well you might just see it in our online shop.
